METROPLUS HEALTH PLAN ANNOUNCES NEW “MEMBER EXTRAS” FOR 2016-17 OPEN ENROLLMENT

(NEW YORK, NY - November 07, 2016)

Seth Diamond, Chief Operating Officer of MetroPlus Health Plan announced today that most of the company’s health plans for the new enrollment period will be packaged with consumer-friendly member extras. “We listened to feedback from members and as a result, we’re very pleased to offer some of the most asked for extras,” Diamond said. The value-added member extras include gym reimbursement, online doctor appointments, more urgent care centers and a member rewards program.

MetroPlus will reimburse members up to $200 every six months for the cost of their exercise facility membership. If their spouse is a MetroPlus member, they are also eligible for a reimbursement of up to $100 every six months. Exercise facilities that maintain equipment and programs that promote cardiovascular wellness qualify for reimbursement.
Thanks to the Plan’s partnership with Zocdoc, members can see doctors’ open appointment times and book instantly online, make informed choices with verified reviews, and stay on top of important checkups with tailored reminders.

Now MetroPlus members can access an increasing number of Urgent Care Centers throughout the five boroughs to help with a sudden illness, an injury, or a condition that needs care right away, but is not so serious as to require an Emergency Room visit.

With MetroPlus’s enhanced member website, users can now pay online, get answers, and request materials. They can access their account (including member profiles for multiple plans), update personal information, view and print member ID cards, change providers, make payments and view payment histories.
The MetroPlus Healthy Rewards Program is available to most MetroPlus members. The program is designed to motivate members to participate in specific healthy activities that improve their health, quality of life, and wellbeing. MetroPlus members can earn reward points for completing healthy activities. Members can use the reward points they earn to order healthy items from the MetroPlus Healthy Rewards Catalog.

Members can visit the Healthy Rewards Portal via smartphone, tablet, or desktop to track their activities, redeem their reward points, and access personalized wellness tools and resources. The program also provides support to members over the phone.

Members can earn rewards when they take steps to manage their diabetes, attend pre-and postpartum visits for a healthy pregnancy, take an annual Health Risk Assessment (HRA), and more.
